Landscape palette

Returning to Watercolour after a 30 year gap!

I need to build a landscape palette ideally about 12 colours (Daler-Rowney Aquafine which are easily available here in South Africa).

What colours would you suggest?

Hazel’s work can be seen online and you could assess the relevance of her colour choices to your environment.

Schmincke Horadam documentation set out the pigments used in each of their colours. HORADAM AQUARELL_DE_EN (schmincke.de)

to help identify equivalents in Daler-Rowney.

Schmincke also provide a ‘colour concept’ (for European use?) which has cool/warm as its base.

I cannot find a Daler-Rowney equivalent but a dot card  Schmincke Horadam Watercolour : 140 Colour Dot Card | Jackson's Art Supplies (jacksonsart.com)

With the high price of colours this enables ‘see before you invest’.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes for your return to painting.
