Corner of a Field

Having been disappointed by my last few paintings, I felt they were too"tight". Possibly by overdoing the drawing on them.

This caught my eye as I liked the light catching the fence and old gate, with the deep shadow of the tree providing a foil. So I attempted this little painting in a looser style.

Comments welcome.

Hello Heidi, thanks for your kind comments. You are absolutely right about the gap in the fence, it would be much better as you suggest, there is a gateway there, with a hedge on the left hand side, but for some reason I chose to leave it out. Maybe I was concentrating too much on the tree and shadow area.

Thank you again for your help, I think another version is needed.
