Llynheilyn

This wonderful little upland lake is near Llanfihangel-nant-Melan (Church of the Angels in the valley with a mill (I think, Trevor?)) in mid Wales. We went there early one morning and had breakfast on the lake shore watching the swans and signets. The reed beds are just coming into growth and the coots and moorhens are building nests. The water was still and reflected a beautiful sky. All comments welcomed.

Nicely painted Jon. Just feel it looks a bit empty. Perhaps cropping it from the left to just before the LH post, and whacking some waterfowl in for interest may do it. Found the paper texture a bit distracting, haven't tried Saunders Waterford yet, have wanted to for a while, I see why people paint on the reverse, as the texture on the front is a bit mechanical. Llanfihangel Nant Melan, means St Michael's by the melancholy stream or valley. Melin means mill, I had to look up Melan, as even my very Welsh speaking wife wasn't sure! Definitely, worth another go Jon.
