Ray, Your comments are most helpful! Since I posted this, and received comments, I have studied numerous works by people posting on this forum, and I can see what you and others are saying. I have been stuck trying to replicate my reference photo instead of composing a painting. I will likely paint these old buildings again, and will incorporate what you, Edo, and Heidi have said. All these comments are much appreciated.
