Deep in the polders
This site, as I only discovered when being there, is a memorial to a plane that crashed there in WW2. Now its a peaceful spot miles from anywhere. The Dutch polder landscape is quite a marvel. Water moving everywhere. This was an exercise in creating depth, adding more texture to the land in the foreground. The reeds are always lighter than the surroundings so that is always a challenge to paint negatively - pulling others out with a damp flat end synthetic brush once dry. A4 Arches rough.
