This is a magical and rare dune lake in The Hague. This painting is on Hot Press Saunders Waterford about A3 size. With hot press you can work with lots of thin layers of paint to build up the subtle variations in value, and I wanted to show all the subtlety of the scene.

It really helped to watch Ollys latest instruction videos on YT, as for this I worked slowly and methodical from the sky and lighter tones forward. As you can imagine the tree to the left was tricky as i had to paint the leaves first and then the branches.
