Hope For Eyesight
I painted this after I found out that my Father was blind and the doctors were unclear if he would regain his sight. I sat down and just started painting and this is what poured out. It conveys many emotions but hope is what felt when I finished.
This was my first time using Saunders Waterford Rough paper. As much as I love the cold pressed version I am not a fan of how the raised tooth of the paper looks like a pattern rather than looking random. I think I will try painting on the backside of this paper next time and see how it turns out.
As always, I welcome feedback.

Sorry to hear about your father. I am in the process of trying cotton papers, as I've always used Bockingford which is a cellulose paper, but is excellent nonetheless. So far I've only tried Arches, ( jury still out on that one), my next will be Saunders Waterford rough, so I will find out what the texture is like. But some papers do have a distinct difference between one side and the other.
