First plein air this year

I am not very used to plein airs. Last year I tried once and got a cold, and before it I didnt do it for 7+ years. Decided to risk it anyway - didnt do it for long, just couple really small sketches.

I hated it pretty much immediately and I think because of it I didnt try to finish it properly and also was very chaotic with colors and lines.

This one I like. I was just holding sketchbook with my other hand, so most lines are wiggly and I got the color of the building wrong, but otherwise I like it.

Moral: plein air is hard and scary. Will do it again.

Well done you for going out and doing it. I'm not much of a Plein air painter myself, although I do sketch and make colour notes for most of my work, but finished work I tend to do indoors.

I like both your sketches, the first does have a certain liveliness to it that I find appealing, the second one is well done, as I've said before, don't worry about lines not being straight, leave that to the architects. As for the colour of the building, that doesn't matter either, as long as the tones are right, it's up to you what colour you paint anything.

Keep it up.
