Pocket Beach
No sky, no horizon. This is an inaccessible pocket beach looking almost straight down about 125M. This is near where I live in Oregon.
My own criticism: I do not like the foreground. I think it was a poor design and is confusing. It should maybe have been darker and less detailed and either all grass or all bushes. Also the distant basalt headland is maybe too detailed and too dark. Should have been lighter and more obscure. These details were in the reference photo I took and show that I am still a slave to the reference. This is something I am just starting to think about and assess as I start a new painting.
What I liked: I tried to show a great depth from the vantage of looking down and I think I did that. I also wanted to shown how turbulent and churning the sea is coming into the beach and I think I did that.

Thank you
