Hi everyone, Just came across this video by Cornish painter Andrew Barrowman, an avid plein air painter who mainly paints in oils. He's neither very comfortable nor experienced in painting watercolours, but here, while testing a watercolour sketching kit, he accurately demonstrates how observation skills and a deep connection to the subject triumphs great technique. The result is a wonderful, loose sketch of a Cornish landscape, and as Oliver and Edo also teaches, it's probably mainly his connection to and experience interpreting that certain landscape, that creates the strong sense of place and atmosphere.
