Sizing on cotton papers

The general atmosphere where I live is warm and dry. Therefore my paint dries exceedingly rapidly, which makes working in large areas difficult. I sometimes can compensate by breaking a large area up into smaller areas, but this doesn’t always work well with the composition. I use Arches 140 lb cotton paper, which I know is good paper, but still it often seems like a sponge and soaks up the paint almost as fast as it goes down. I have been told that the problem cannot be solved by changing to a heavier weight paper, although a different brand may have a different sizing that might slow the drying time. I did see a YouTube video that said you could add gum Arabic to the water/paint to slow the drying time. However, I don’t like the gloss that it adds. Another suggestion was to move north! That I would love to do but it’s just not going to happen. Can anyone recommend another brand of paper that would dry more slowly?

I am going to try 300 lb papers so with that I should not have to do any stretching! Thanks again for considering my problem.
