Signature
Hi! I don’t know if the topic is premature for me or not, but I have some thoughts about signature.
First of all, it is necessary ore not? If I look at classical, a signature is a must! But now, have the same function and importance as years ago?
Then, where is, in the painting, the correct position of the signature? Botton right? Botton left? We need to understand where is better considering the balance of the painting?
And is it correct to apply the signature with other medium? For example Guache or Ink?

I sign and date basically for the benefit of my children usually who will 'inherit' my paintings. I usually like to sign when possible, depending the subject, on a slant close to what I've painted if it's a botanical, for example.
To me it's not so 'stark'.
