roof lighting and texture

I started painting this from scene I've photograph at Stratford Upon-Avon back in 2019. The woman and horse caught my eyes at the moment and now again during painting from old photo.

However, the majority of the scene is cover by this beautiful roof top that I don't know how to go after. My daughter said my painting make it looks like a few pieces of flat plastic. LOL. This was an improvement as my first try she used a singular noun for my plastic looking roof. And I am welcoming other feedback or suggestion for different parts of the painting. The roof lighting and texture is my known struggle.

Okay another go after getting feedback. I changed the fence style and put lighter tone value at the background.

I like this very much. I wouldn't worry about painting the roof, it's fine as it is, more detail would only detract from the figure and the horse. I also think it softening the view through the gate would help to give a sense of distance, and perhaps increasing the area of shadow to emphasize the horse and figure. I can't decide about the fence, yes, it does hide some of the horse and figure but it leads the eye into the picture, and I like it! Overall, a very nice painting.
